ABOUT THE GENTLE DOCTOR

Dr. Debbye Turner, a veterinarian, and Miss America, 1990, is host of this dynamic magazine television series which examines the strong bond between people and their pets, including dogs, cats, fish, birds, and exotic pets. The stories are lively and wide-ranging. The series also looks at many aspects of proper care and training for pets. There are on-going segment streams on first aid, on cat care, on bird care, on pet nutrition, on dog training, and on animals of the wild. Visits to aquariums, zoos and farms are also an integral part of the series because of popular demand. This series was a co-production between Soma Television Ltd. and WEDU, the PBS station in Tampa, Florida.
